Hey there, sports fans! Are you ready to take your game day celebrations to the next level? When you’re cheering for your favorite team at home, adding a bit of stadium magic to your setup can make all the difference.

Imagine capturing memories that make it look like you’re right there in the arena, even from the comfort of your living room. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to create a fantastic DIY photo booth background that will transport you and your guests to the heart of the action.

It’s all about bringing that stadium spirit home, and with a little creativity and some team-colored flair, you’ll be the MVP of homegating!

Let’s do it!

Step 1 – Gather Your Supplies

You’ll need the following:

  • Backing of your choice – I used 2 pieces of 20″x30″ foam board, because I already had some available. You could also use poster board.
  • Paint (optional), if you want to change the color of your background.
  • Construction or scrapbook paper in your team colors.
  • Circle punches – I used 1″ and 1-1/2″ punches, but you could also just cut out circles with a scissors.
  • Glue

.

Step 2 – Prep Your Backing

Tape your backing pieces together to make the size backdrop you want. My finished backdrop is 40″ wide by 30″ tall, for reference.

Paint the backdrop, if desired and let it dry.

.

Step 3 – Make the Fans

Use the circle punches or a scissors to cut out your fans. How many you need will depend on how big your backdrop is and the size of your circles, but I used about 400 circles on mine. You can always cut out more later, if you need them!

.

Step 4 – Put the Fans in the Stands

Start with the fans in the top row! Glue on a row of circles along the top of your backdrop, mixing up the colors and sizes as you go. Don’t worry … they don’t need to be perfectly spaced out!

For all of the next rows, glue down the new circles slightly overlapping and staggered between the row behind it, so it looks just like rows of people stacked up behind each other. I used a yard stick to help me keep the rows in a generally straight line.

Keep going, all the way to the bottom row, those lucky fans with front row seats!

.

Step 5 – Practice Your Pose

.

I made my backdrop in green, gold and white, to match my beloved Green Bay Packers. I also mixed in a few other colors, to account for a few “visitors” mixed in on the home side of the field!

What colors will you choose?

.

See you soon!
