Football season is here, and that means gathering with friends and family to watch the big game every week.

Some of the attendees may not be that interested in actually watching the game (gasp!), and it would be nice to offer them something to help keep them busy. Why not a football themed game of I Spy?

How do you play I spy?

Did you ever play “I Spy” while travelling in the car? When my kids were younger, I’d start with a prompt like “I spy something green” and they’d take turns guessing what I was looking at.

This game works a little differently. There are 10 different pictures of football themed items for this version of “I Spy.” You count how many of each image you see, and record it at the bottom of the page.

To help you count, you can draw an X through each item as you count it, or color each image as you go!

How do I get the game?

Download the pdf below, then print as many copies as you need on standard 8.5×11 printer paper.

Please note: This printable is for personal or classroom non-commercial use only.

So what team(s) are you cheering for this season? I’ve lived in the south for more than half my life, but I’ll still be rooting for my home state Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers!

Go team!

Carrie

P.S. Let me know if you give the “I Spy” game a go!
