Sports fans tend to take a lot of pictures and videos at the game, especially when they are moms and dads of one of the young athletes. But sometimes you can’t be there on game day. Or maybe you got so caught up in the excitement that you missed that shot of Billy’s first tackle or Susie’s first hit.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get pictures and videos of your kids that one of the other sports parents took? Or share yours with those other parents?

Today I’ve got some easy solutions for sharing, so no one misses out.

One – Team or League Site

Start with checking to see if your sports league or team already has a site or uses an app like TeamSnap, Whatsapp or PhotoCircle. There’s no sense in starting fr5om scratch, if there is already something in place.

Two – Social Media

Many people use Facebook already, and its easy to create a private photo album and share it with specific users. You can also make an album shared, by adding contributors who can then add photos or videos, tag photos, edit the album and add other contributors.

This is an easy solution, but be aware that people are becoming more wary of privacy issue concerns with social media and Facebook specifically, and might not be on the platform.

.

Three – Google Photos or Google Drive

You can create a shared photo album on Google, and it’s free up to 15GB. Select who you want to share the album with, and set options to choose whether others can add photos and videos, comments or likes to your album.

NOTE: you can invite people via e-mail, or by sharing a link. If you use the LINK SHARING option, anyone with the link can view and add to the album and the photos.

Google Drive is also free up to 15GB, and works the same way. Create a folder, upload the photos you want to share, then either share the folder on a user-by-user basis or by using a shareable link. You need to know the email address of the person you want to share with.

Four – Team Share Site by Shutterfly

NOTE: no longer available as of March 2023

My favorite option used to be a team share site on Shutterfly. I had used these share sites for years, for sports, holidays and family events, and was so disappointed when they were discontinued.

I’m sorry if you are here because you saw one of my old Pinterest pins that showed this as an option!

I hope this gives you some good options. Let me know if you have other suggestions, and I’ll add them to the list!

See you next week,

Carrie
