I don’t know how it happened, but to me, March means all kinds of excitement for sports lovers everywhere! The NCAA will hold its Division I men’s and women’s basketball championships, as well as the men’s and women’s ice hockey championships!

March Madness indeed! Did you know that the term “March Madness” was first used back in 1982 to describe the NCAA basketball tournament? Sportscaster Brent Musburger said it during he was covering the tournament, and given how well the name describes the drama and chaos that often takes place, it stuck!

I plan to do a little decorating before the tourney starts to give my den a festive feel. If you are looking for a quick and easy DIY to get your home ready, I’ve got the perfect project for you! Just print out the file below, cut out the banners, punch some holes in them, and string them. March Madness ready!

Here are a few hints to help you along the way.

I printed my banners out 4 per page, because I wanted a small size, but you could do yours 2 per page or even full page size if you have the space to hang them! I recommend printing your banners out on heavy cardstock if you have it. This will make them a lot sturdier than if you print on regular printer paper.

Using a paper cutter on the straight edges will make the cutting process go a little quicker, as will stacking the papers neatly and cutting out 2 pages worth at a time.

I punched holes in the top corners of each banner, then ran a string through the holes to hang the banners all together, but you could tape or staple the banners to a string, or just scatter them on a table for a different look!

Now, which team are you most looking forward to seeing play in the tournament? You know I’ll be cheering for my Wisconsin Badgers!

See you next week, with more March Madness fun!

Carrie
