Every collection I create starts with a feeling.
But this one started with a moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
The day after the 2024 election, I woke up carrying a mix of shock, anger, and deep defeat. It felt heavy, like the air had changed overnight. But pretty quickly, that feeling shifted into something else. I realized I wasn’t willing to quietly accept what felt like a loss of democracy. I needed an outlet. I needed to do something, even if it was small.
So I sat down and made a bracelet for myself that said RESIST.

It was never meant to be anything more than a personal reminder. But the next day, I added it to my shop, thinking there had to be other people out there feeling the same swirl of emotions, people who might want a tangible way to express what they were carrying.
The response was immediate. Orders started coming in almost right away, and with each notification I felt a sense of connection. Then I shared a video on social media, and when it started to spread, everything accelerated. Sales surged, messages poured in, and one theme kept repeating: people wanted more words, more colors, more ways to express what they were feeling.
That’s when the idea expanded beyond a single bracelet.
It became a collection.

The name Team Democracy came naturally because that’s what it felt like, a community forming in real time. People who might never meet, but who shared a desire to show up, speak out, and stand for something bigger than themselves. “Team” captured that sense of unity and momentum in a way that felt hopeful instead of heavy.
Designing the collection has been one of the most meaningful experiences in my business. Each new piece is created with intention, balancing message and wearability so they feel like part of everyday life, not just something you reach for on certain occasions. And the best part has been the connections. Hearing from customers, seeing their photos, and knowing these bracelets are helping people feel seen has been incredibly powerful.
I truly love making these pieces for people who feel the way I do.
What began as a way to channel my own emotions has grown into a community I’m grateful for every single day.
That’s the heart of the Team Democracy collection.
Not just jewelry, but a reminder that none of us are alone, and that even small expressions can bring people together.
I’d love to know if you’ve joined the fight!
Carrie
P.S. That very first RESIST bracelet I made in November 2024? I never take it off, and it is still standing strong (just like me)!
