Hello, everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for the holiday season. And while it won’t be like holidays of the past, as we balance our desire to spend time with family and friends against trying to do our part in not spreading the coronavirus, I know many of us are ready to get on with it, and to put 2020 behind us!

The holidays can be a difficult time for many people, even during the best of times, but I’ve reminded myself that I do have plenty to be grateful for this year. I am able to work from home, running my small business. I am still able to participate in many of the things I love, such as reading, running or walking every day, and book club (via Zoom)! I do know people who have been very ill with Covid-19, and a few who still haven’t fully recovered, even months later, but I have my health, as do all of the people closest to me (knock on wood).

I’m hoping you can find something positive to focus on in your life, too!

For many of us, Thanksgiving 2020 is going to look a lot different than normal, as we won’t be celebrating in person with our loved ones. I am grateful for every one you who has made the difficult decision to do the right thing, and not gather in big groups for their normal feasts and festivities. And for those that are choosing to pretend that the pandemic is not a big deal, and are travelling or holding your normal family gatherings, I can only hope that you don’t regret that decision later.

For me, I’m choosing to focus on the things that are always most important to me about the Thanksgiving holiday. Family (even though it’s a much smaller group this year), food (just in smaller serving bowls), and football (because watching the games will make this year feel just a little more normal).

Are you going to be able to keep at least some of your normal traditions this year?

To show my gratitude for you being here, and following the blog every week, both of the graphics I’ve included above are also available as free PDF files, to make it easy for you to download and print at home! Enjoy.

Wishing you a safe holiday,

Carrie
