Welcome back! If you are regular reader, you are probably wondering why I’ve chosen to write a blog post that isn’t about my normal topics of sports and fandom.

The truth is, there are things more important than sports, and sometimes I need to take a minute to talk about those things.

There … I said it. Some things are more important than sports, even to a die hard fan like me.

The passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hit me like a punch to the gut when I heard about it, and I still miss her. For the notorious RBG was a true hero in my eyes.

In her 27 years on the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg championed equal rights for women, LGBTQ Americans, minorities, and those who believe the role of the government is to make sure that all Americans enjoy equal justice under law.

She is the reason a woman can sign a mortgage without a man.

She is why women can have their own bank accounts.

She is why a company can’t discriminate against anyone based on gender, and why women’s jobs are protected it they have kids or get pregnant.

And for that I am grateful.

Today, I am honoring her in my own small way, by sharing my favorite RBG quotes. I hope you join me in remembering and honoring her today. Rest in power, Justice Ginsburg.

Thank you for indulging me.

Until next time,

Carrie
