Welcome back, sports fans! I hope you had an amazing weekend, and got to enjoy some fresh air, sunshine and a good ball game or two. It’s been raining here in the Atlanta area since Friday, and I am ready to see the sun again!

But the rainy weather meant it was a great weekend for staying in and catching some of the matches in the group phase of the Women’s World Cup. And I am really excited to see the U.S. Women’s National Team play their first game later this afternoon! Go Team USA!!!

Today I’m answering more of the questions I am often asked about my business, Team Colors by Carrie. In case you missed it, here’s the story about how I got start started and everything you wanted to know about how I package and ship your orders.

Most of the bracelets I create are either stretch bracelets or memory wire bracelets, and people often wonder what that means, and why I sell both types of beaded bracelets. So let me explain …

What is a stretch bracelet?

A stretch bracelet is made by stringing beads onto an elastic cord. They are pretty easy to make, and were the first kind of jewelry I learned how to create! They are also really easy to wear, because there is no clasp, and you just slip them on and off over your hand.

What sizes do you have in stretch bracelets?

I offer 4 standard sizes, made to the nearest 1/2″ (6.5, 7.0, 7.5 or 8.0 inches) but can make any size you might need. And you can choose your size to fit snugly, so it doesn’t move around, or more loosely like a bangle.

What is Memory Wire?

Memory wire is a thin tempered steel wire that retains its shape really well. It comes in coils with pre-formed loops that look like a slinky, sized for bracelets, necklaces or rings.

What is Memory Wire used for?

I use the bracelet size for both bracelets and earrings!

The bracelets can be made as single or multiple wrap, to look like you are wearing several stacked bracelets with the convenience of an all-in-one piece.

How does a memory wire bracelet fit?

I use a wire that has a 2.25″diameter, which results in a bracelet about 7″ long. But the great thing about memory wire is that it flexes, so it will also fit larger wrists for “one size fits most!” That means memory wire bracelets are perfect for when you want to give a bracelet as a gift, but don’t know the recipients size.

Now, what other burning questions to you have? Drop them in the comments below, and I’ll be sure to answer them in a future post!

Until next week,

Carrie
