Hello team!
We are still in full NFL playoff mode at our house! Even though our Packers didn’t make the cut, we still enjoy watching all the games. Is your favorite team still in the picture?
I think you’ll enjoy today’s project, no matter what your favorite team or sport, because it’s a great way to decorate with a little team spirit this time of year. These cute little snowmen are quick and easy to put together (no sewing) and are a great way to recycle some old team spirit wear that you aren’t using anymore!
I made a bunch of mini snowmen sporting scarves that were made from an old pair of flannel pants that I hadn’t worn in years. I couldn’t part with the pants, and decided recycling them was a great way to get some use out of them. I’ll also show you some alternatives for the scarves, if you don’t have any old flannel around, and can’t find any in the right colors are your local thrift shop or fabric shop.
Let’s get started!

Step 1 – Gather your supplies
- 2 white bobby socks (I used size small)
- Flannel in your team colors
- Yarn in your team colors
- Small buttons or googly eyes
- Rice or beans
- Small rubber bands
- Scissors
- Glue

Step 2 – Snowman Body
- Cut the foot off one of the socks
- Cut the top of the sock off, and discard the heel section
- Set aside the top for the hat
- Fill the foot part of the sock with rice, about ¾ full, and push it down firmly
- Rubber band the top shut
Step 3 – Snowman Scarf
- Cut a piece of flannel about 10” x 1”
- ALTERNATE- cut 4-6 pieces of yarn instead
- Tie the flannel (or yarn) around the middle of the snowman, to create a body and head
- Trim the scarf, as desired
Step 4 – Snowman Hat
- Roll up the finished edge of the sock top, to form a brim
- Cut 1 or 2 pieces of yarn, about 6” long
- Gather the open end, and tie with the yarn
- Pull the hat onto the snowman’s head
Step 5 – Snowman Face
- Place drops of glue on the snowman’s face, for the eyes
- Position the beads or googly eyes
- Let dry

Aren’t these adorable? They would make great decorations for a game day watch party, or just to add some team spirit to your family room or den!
Until next week,
Carrie
P.S. If you missed last week’s post, I also used some of the flannel to create reusable Hand Warmers, so be sure to check that out too!
PIN IT for later!
